Inspired by the Olympics? Always wanted to know what rowing is about? Come and learn to row at Nines!
We are now offering an Introduction to Rowing and a Learn to Row programme.
Introduction to Rowing
In our Introduction to Rowing programme you will learn the basics of the rowing stroke as part of a small, personalised group. You can either join as an individual or bring a friend.
The programme consists of 1 x 1 hour ergo session and 2 x 1.5 hour water sessions in our charming tub pair and costs £40 per person.
After completing our introduction to rowing course you can progress to our Learn to row programme.
Learn to Row
In this short rowing course you will develop your rowing technique, learn boat handling skills and river rules and will discover the joys of rowing as a crew on the river Cam. This fun focused course applies the skills learnt in the introduction to Rowing course, providing a casual learning environment where the focus in on improvement of skill and confidence in the boat. You will be asked to commit to one session per week over four weeks and will start to get a feel for what it is like to row both socially and competitively.
During the course we will ask you to consider whether you would like to become a member and, if you do, you can join the squads with Club membership.
The programme consists of 4 x 1.5 hour water sessions in a coxed four and costs £70 per person.
If you book both the Introduction and Learn to Row courses at the same time you can enjoy a 10% discount.

Learn To Cox

Junior Learn To Row
A ten week introduction course to achieve British Rowing Go Row levels 1,2 and 3 and also readiness for joining the Nines Junior squad (J3 Squad).
Development focus: training and water safety, equipment handling, rowing technique.
The Learn to Row course is held every quarter, and consists of twenty sessions (10 weeks x 2 sessions).
The sessions run on Thursday (4:30pm to 6:15 pm) and Saturday (12:00pm to 2:00 pm). The cost of the total course is £200.
